this is THE best mapping websit ever. omg, why WHY did i find out about it only today? after i learned everything the hard way. the tuts here are very helpful, written in a way i can understand, without too many spelling mistakes. I'm speechless!!

I realise he made Minimicus...but has he ever actually done anything else, it is just odd he is a Mod without doing anything I can see...maybe I am missing something?

Now that would be an ultimate map if you spent years on it lol.

I too have had about a years experience, but I have learned nearly a 1/4 of what i know since I have come here. TWHL is a community of people devoted to helping each other. you dont really see that much these days. TWHL indeed, kicks big hairy grandmother ass! lol....

You know what? I love TWHL too, it's the only online site that I have stayed with and was active for more than a year. Great people, mods, mappers, forums and tutorials. Best mapping site on THE PLANET.

Of all the sites I have been to, I found that this site was the birthplace of my mapping days.
I found out that you could make levels, I found Hammer 3.4, I started messing around on it and made an average level. I was nieve then cause it had no lights (or light source) and it looked crap. I wanted to know how to make it playable so I found this site and failed configuring it. I tried again later in the year and it worked, I was really happy and started learning off the tutorials here and here I am.
HL2 mapping is similar so I was already at home with its power.

Hmm... I can't say I've really learned anything special about mapping here, but people's feedback on my maps was really helpfull. And another thing - power decays people (let's all remember 'The Project' and stay silent for a minute...)

TWHL is definitely a good source for hl2 help and information. I have found it to be probably the most helpful. It has been my key source for information over the last few months while trying to learn the hl2 engine, it has helped me create my first box test map, to now much more detailed maps which i have been releasing to hl2 files

Yea... TWHL is the site that gave me both the N00b and advanced info on all the stuff for my maps... This is one dam good site!
I'd have never started mapping normally if it wasnt for TWHL tuts, forums and so on... And now I'm a pretty cool noob mapper...
