oh god here we go again....ok, reasons why the matrix trilogy does not "own all"....
The first matrix film was excellent. Reloaded carried the visual style on extremely well, but as it was 2nd in a trilogy, as typically happens, much of the film was tedious plot work, and too much time was spent on unimaginitive and mediocre character development. The third, however, was a complete and utter mess. It feels unbalanced, stagnant, and stunted. The plot (which was done well in the first two) collapses into meaningless nonsensical turd, and stumbles off down non-essential and just plain stupid routes. The bulk of the film was just a digital, repetitive light show without any real power. The characters are 1-dimensional at best (i forgot that trinity dies for several weeks), and ultimately the viewer has absolutely no interest in them by the end. Shame really, because The Matrix is a classic.
