i made a map i really like, but its in counter-strike 1.5. is it possible to somehow make it into a map that can be played in Source? or would i have to redo it all? when it comes to mapping in Source, im a total n00b. please help! thanks.

Export to .map and open that in Hammer 4.

Rework the ents, add props, etc.

The annoying thing is the textures cause they are bigger than they should be in Source e.g. I made an aztec map ages ago and tried converting it to Source but all the textures I used were massive so I had to resize each one and it took forever so no!

Use IrfanView's batch processing features, fool :P.

thanks guys! i got it to open and save as a .vmf file, but all my brushes are white. im in the process of redoing them all with the new textures, but does that mean old .wad files and textures are obsolete now?

Seventh, i used batch files to compile my maps in 1.5 and i Googled some stuff about that IrfanView's stuff and found a lot of irrelevant links...do you have any related/relevant links for me? :D

Aye, can't use the WADs anymore.

Yodel, the comment was directed at habboi regarding batch resizing of images. Might be useful for you, of course ? IrfanView. Excellent program. Freeware.

You should be all set with the SDK's set of tools.

I meant in Hammer Seventh, I had to resize every texture cause it was set on 0.25 and my default was 1.00 so I used the texture apply tool and it took forever.

Why didn't you select everything?

Yeah, select all, then open the texture tool and resize.

Source textures are at .25 as they're 512x, so for qualitys' sake we scale them down. (Standard wall is 128, which is .25x 512.)

You could do the same in HL1, and I did on occasion.
