Ok...I followed a lot of tutorials on how to set up the hammer editor, from my understanding I have it right..but the zhlt that I'm using seems not to make the .bsp thing that I need. I compiled one map right and that was it. Am I just overlooking something? How do I do this?

there might be an error in the compile that prevents it from working.

It's probably a fatal compiling error caused by a mistake on your part in the map. You know the box which comes up when you compile, with all the scrolling text? Copy that and paste it here.

looks to me like you haven`t set hammer up right
as you can see mine is alot longer. I surrgest you see read the tut for ecspert mode or just use normal for now

i have mine at. HAMMERtools
replaceing HAMMER with where ever you put hammer
you probley won`t use it in your 1st few maps

hmmm when i first started i got a problem like that but it was alot shorter its most likley that youve set up hammer incorectlymabye have another look though build programs in it again and see if youve put the correct links in

It could be a paths-with-spaces problem. Keep your RMFs, etc., outside of the game tree. Try just sticking them in C:RMF and then compiling.

It's not. The paths to everything on my system have multiple spaces! In the hammer configuration, check that you actually typed "program files" instead of "progra~1", maybe that's it.
edit: And make sure that ALL of the commands in the "expert" mode are enabled, because I think i've seen this before, I think it couldn't find the game directory. Go through hammer's settings, make sure every field is filled out correctly. In other words: double check again.

ok...to make this a little easier for all of us...could i just make a map and have someone compile it for me? and just send me the .bsp file?

Make hammer place the .BSPs in the mod's maps folder. In case you're mapping for the original Hl1 place them in valve/maps or in Cs put them in cstrike/maps...and so on :)

Fragmeister: No, that's not the case (the "progra~1" thing, that's just Windows shortening the name).

Your configuration is totally wrong. You've got the RMF directory in the same place as the map directory. Seperate them. Here's what happens in the compile:

1. The tools compile everything in the folder you've specified for RMF files.
2. The last process then copies the compilled BSP from that folder into the map folder of the game (in this case Condition Zero).

I advise that you check your configuration to prove me right (or completely wrong, of course. :P ). Take a screenshot of your configuration screen and link us to it.

I know, but some programs have trouble with that sort of thing. Just a thought.

@laita: I believe ansith had this same problem a while back. I'll see if I can find the solution in the forums.
