Looks really good Saco! I must apologize, because most of the darker screenies are hard for me to see right now because of the sun where i am--coffee shop.

One thing I did notice though was the cheeze-it pallets stacked directly atop one another. I would recomend brushing or texturing a metal looking rack between them.

Edit: I just looked at some screenies from HeadCrab guy, and his looked fine to me, which means your's are super-dark :)

ya, light beams need to be a whole lot more clear.

everything else looks good.

and remember, you havn't posted a date for this yet, but Hostage Situation is due to be out next month, finish that up first!

The glock skin doesn't look too good (imo) but other than that things seem to look good. :)

Saco why did you use those volumetric lights? Use foggy lights which are better! That light beam that comes from the crack looks good cause you used the sunbeam texture but don't overuse it. ;)

Most screenshots are undetailed and, most of all, very blocky. I suggest some curvier designs.
Might try scaling down textures a bit - looks quite too large in some screens (The city ones mainly.)

Lightning looks a bit jiffy in some places, especially the extremely-dark ones. More spot lighting.

I actually did,several months ago.It will be finished in Summer 2006
and about the re-skins,I know they suck but this is just the work screenshots..you know not yet complete. ;)

thx,about the lights..well,what can I say..I'm a weird guy.Sometimes inspriation hits me,sometimes it just pushes me away from itself...To be honest my mapping gets better when I have good morale,and with low morale.. it gets crappy. :quizzical:

In regard to my last comment, I apologize for my lack of clarity. Hopefully this will be more comprehensible:

I thought your screenies looked dark before, but now they look fine to me.

The pallets of cardboard goods stacked on top of each other without shelfs, is very unrealistic looking. You could build a metal shelf for the space inbetween them, or add a metal shelf to the texture itself.

The shelves or "racks" are very common in most any wharehouse space.

I've credited everyone who helped me,except for the musics.If I could just contact with the guy.Or else,I have to rid out of them.

If A.I wouldnt give me permission to re-skin their models.I would be broken apart.He just didnt want me to touch his source files of his models.yea,he is a great guy alright :)

I'm still mapping for Xen Assault,but kinda scared to post screenshots... :( .But if you want a media update,let me now.I'm working on HL:HS these days.

Screeny6.jpg is way way way too dark. I had to turn the brightness up to 80 before I could even make out shapes.

Screeny1 clearly the best. Atleast it has nice lighting. Wall facing the player looks quite undetailed though. The other screens have odd lighting, especially that long corridor and they do look quite blocky.

Wow, some of those new screen shots show a great improvment!

Looks brilliant, agreed that screeny 6 is pointless (just a black box on my screen) and a few of the screens could do with a little touch up but it looks good to me.

Awesome stuff.

saco, if the area in screeny 6 needs the darkness for a particular reason, then keep it, if not, lighten it up.

the wires in screen 1 need some sag to them or they won't look right.

the hallway thats really brightly lit looks wierd.

I don't believe that HINT/SKIP brush will work in that kind of area. Func_walling complex brushes or groups of complex brushes, should decrease compile time, but r_speeds might raise, unless you nullify those unseen faces. But there won't be much difference.

Func_walling decreases R_speeds seeing as how the faces they touch don't split up.

The pit worm's eyes look weird! Try also changing how that xenish growth on the walls of the buildings. It's really looks like a bunch of blocks and cylinders with a xenish texture. I can't explain how to make it better, but look in opfor in episodes like the pit of the worm's nest. The xen growth that usally have these spores on them look much better. Try making your xen growth more like that.

I think I'm getting the story changed a bit,if there are demons in Xentopia.Then should good exist in Xentopia too.Like the player will find out in the further gameplay that the battle is between good&evil
