I read the glass tutorial. I followed the instructions exactly... I tied it to entity, its a glass texture, I go to properties, set the render mode to texture and fx amount to 100. I close the object properties box, and nothing! it doesn't become translucent or anything... I right click on it and click properties again and all it has is the vis group tab. Can someone please help me with this? Am I doing something wrong or have a setting incorrect?

Thanks.

Make sure the IG button on the toolbar is un-pressed.

On the subject of the ignore button, I always thought CTRL-W set a brush back "to world", but it in fact toggles the IG button![/rant] :

the half life 1 hammer does not show brushes transparent. Compile your map and view it from half life/TFC/DM/CS ect
for the not seeming to stay don` as already said you must NOT have IG turned on

Its a known bug, L o D. Sometimes entity information is not being saved.
