You should download cs_xmas and check it out, if you haven't played this map before. It's one of the best maps I've ever played for CS:Source, including the official maps.
It's a 35 MB download, but you won't regret downloading it. Trust me.

WOW that map was amazing! Who made that? Was it one person or a team? I loved the architexture outside! Were those vases custom models? The living room was impressive. VERY VERY NICE! Very genius usage of displacement on the stairs and snow! Hope this is online for play!

The gloomy atmosphere and the texturing really looks great. Kinda reminds me of de_storm.

It's difficult to make a map that is better than this one. The map was designed and mapped by one guy. Some other people helped with modeling and music, but most of the map is one person's work.
I would say it's just as good as the official cs_militia and de_inferno, and both of those maps are amazing.
And check your cstrike/sounds folder. It has two nice songs with this map.

Thats what I thought. Fly down to the white "skybox looking" room. Its a secret BEAUTIFULLY made church and it transports you back to the level. Ive gone in this map 3 times just to admire it:)

hl2 bsps are capable of being about 500 times bigger than your average hl map, but a map of hl1 size takes up about the same. It doesnt take a lot now to push the map above 10 meg.
Anyway, this is a brilliant map but obviously looks arent everything, the map suffers from two major drawbacks that any map would be destroyed for.

actually scratch that, after looking through what made up the filesize he's put in 10 meg of mp3s. I dont mean to sound harsh but any mapper who deludes themself in thinking someone wants to listen to ENTIRE MOVEMENTS while playing CS needs their head checking. Very, very poor map design.

I do agree with the redundancy of the excessively large mp3's in the map.
How do you get to the teleporter again? I went to the chapel, but after I pressed the keypad, nothing happened.

noclip to the secret chapel way under the map. It has all kinds of pictures thanking the creators, and there is a chapel enderpass with an arrow. Go under it, and your transported.
I personally liked the church music when approaching. Its perfect. Very well done. I love the music and all the sounds! Just a great map! I dont know if TWHL has a souce server, but they should play this map. "ex" "dee"

Yeah, but to be fair, it's not as big a deal for most people as when the unwashed masses were on 56k. Ten meg would take me forty seconds. It's not a great hardship.

what any sane mapper for hl1 would have done and should do for hl2, just because the engine needs less optimisation does not mean 'ignore everything you learned mapping for hl1'
