Ok here's the deal. My friend H?gge (mjah-bete) is becomming obsessed with World Of Warcraft, and me and a bunch of friends has started a campain to get him to stop doing that, just for fun. One of my friends got so addicted that all he ever did was play WoW. He didnt shower, he never left his room (his mom is like Cartmans mom and spoils him...she brought food up to him) and it got so bad that he didnt even go to the bathroom and just went "Wii" in his pants. You dont wanna know how bad he smelled...how bad his room smelled.
So finally my friends and I got together and draged him out of his room kicking and screaming (and crying) and took him outside. We were able to talk him out of playing it and he got rid of the game. We all decided our friendship was more important than games so weve all been hanging out alot more and playing online less.

Sometimes I get the urge to play *cough "CS" *cough and try to keep to just 1 hour limit........ So after about 5 or 6 hours later of playing I check the time and I am shocked that the time has just flown by.
(Its a time warp thingy) and after you finish playing you sit and wonder why the hell you played so hard core, is it:
(A). Even though you know people are hacking you actualy believe that you can beat them the next round?
(B). you stay online for the laughs, you know when they all argue like, " OMG you haxor you walled" me, or "your gay and I fucked your mother so I am l33t..../rank".
or (C). You just love stats whore's who only use the Awp and head shot you every round.

So you run into a boring moment and run away and damn the whole genre for it? It's not like other games don't have boring moments, i.e. Silent Hill 3... "Find locked door, run down corridor, find key, run back, avoid scary thing while screaming OH NOES MONSTUR, open door, YAY, find a first aid kit!!!" Truly riveting.

First Person Shooters are also very similar.
The thing about RPGs is that they last longer and they actually have a story and you can care about the characters even more than when you read a book of watch a film.

I understand that MMORPGs ("Massive multiplayer online role playing games" for the acronym-ignorant tards =P) don't appeal to everyone, but dont tear a friend away from them if you dont like them.
And for the record, I only pee'd myself one time while playing WoW, and that was because we were running Wailing Caverns and I wanted Tail Spike from Skum, and I couldn't wait! Honest mistake I tell you... now I have a bed pan.

OOOO Tell him about the Half Life mod Mastersword. Its an online, first person RPG thats [obviously] built on the HL engine. The game itself isnt exactly pleasing on the eyes(very poorly made maps and models) but the gameplay is great and the maps are huge and many. You could probbaly get him on that for a while, long enough to get off WoW at least.

I really dont even see why people like WoW so much. I guess cause it allows people to socialize without even leaving their room. But the graphics suck. Even Morrowind has better grapics. And Oblivion just totally puts it to shame.
