Actually, I think the normal headcrabs look like baked chickens with tiny arms and legs
The fast headcrabs look a bit more like crabs

(im talking about HL1 head crabs.) yes, they look like cooked chickens with arms and legs but i dont think they look like crabs. Crabs have claws and more legs, eyes on their heads, hard shell. On that subject of crabs, why where there head crabs on they hunger? :

I'm thinking that Neil and company probably weren't thinking about it too much when they decided to include Headcrabs. They jump out and scare you, even if it doesn't make sense why they're there (along with the snarks and that fish thing I always forget the name of).
