That would be because the exit portal is poting in a direction that goes against gravity so for a few seconds you defy it which enables you to reach places in hard to get places. Once gravity grabs a hold of you you revert back to the right level of view.

I hate to say it, but that shows how insignificant this release will be. Sure, it's a great idea, but it seems like more of something that was hashed out by VALVe to keep everyone happy after they said Ep. 1 didn't have enough content. It's encouraging to see that they're responding to us, not so much by the fact that they have made a 'totally radical new concept' recreatable in Gmod

Its not that hard, a bit of coding useing the same code as the HL cameras and your good. it takes a bit more then that though to turn it into an entire game and make it stable.

A little late with the response, but I haven't been to TWHL in a while. It looks amazing but I can see how it would work. The entrance/exit would create a camera that is viewed through the opootisde portal(extrance would look at exit and vice versa). The portal sprite would be rendered with the camera's view and when you get near the portal you would be teleported to the other portal. You can do something very similar to this in Gmod, though not quite as effectivly.
