I was wonderin if you guys would recommend d/l'ing steam, only ive heard quite a few bad things about it. I have DSL and a decent computer if that matters. I have never played half-life or any related games before BTW.

i tried my local game hops and they said that their suppliers havent got it

It's okay I reckon. Recommend backing up your original install of HL in order to retain all the WADs.

SAme here. It deleted all of my wads and things. Luckily it saved my maps and mods under the thirdparty mod thing.

steam is not crap, its just new, and as with mostly all new programs there will be bugs and fualts. Personally i like steam, its given me no probs.

Everytime i have tried to use Steam it just says: "Steam Is Down! Play HL with WON instead you stupid sod!"
