While stupid politicians keep crapping on about how video games are evil, more and more studies are showing the benefits that come from gaming.
That article didn't counterdict that idea, read the last paragraph carefully:
Parents should not see this study as beneficial if their child is playing video games for over an hour a day," Gentile said. "Spending that much time playing video games is not going to help their child's chances of getting into medical school.
Playing all day acording to the paragraph isn't helpful. They ment that playing aproximetly 9 hour a week is helpful if it's in addition to studing. All in proportions, not too much not too little.
As for my opinion: surely there are other and better ways to develop those skills, I'm sure of it. Maybe drawing.
