I don't believe so kasperg. You dont deal direct damage anywhere. Just download it from m0px.net/rimrook .
Posted 17 years ago2007-05-25 17:22:24 UTC Post #223455
I haven't released the new stuff yet.

But yes, you will have to deal damage at close range. There are also means of dealing damage in more effective and creative ways as well, but when there is nothing around, you'll need this.

Minus one internet for rimrook.:)

I thought you were going to make this mod without violence. I was trying to prove my mom i can get interested in games with no gore...

I won't get into flamewars.

Rimrook, I dl'ed it about 3 weeks ago. Couldn't finish the training levels. What can i expect of this "new stuff" you talked about?

More involving puzzles, full environments, Moar intutive puzzle elements and interaction, and better story.... and better music....

after too much time, I finally got a new font for HL. Made it myself in only 5 hours!

Also, once some maps are done. A demo is could be ready despite the fact that the new feature will make it hard to control the blocks.

This is looking real cool, Rimrook :)

...Maybe you'll be getting attention from Valve, who knows??
Posted 17 years ago2007-05-31 13:35:29 UTC Post #223951
That would be friggin awsome. But everyone knows 6D would go crazy with source (physics abuse). But with portal coming out, there's no need for another puzzle game that isn't as fancy.

Its the only reason why this isn't going to source. If it can be cleaned up, it won't have to go to source. I'm still having to work around things, as well as working without the kinesis code. I only wish that the pushables weren't so friggin glitchy, like how they interact with the motion_manager and all that.

edit:
...Maybe you'll be getting attention from Valve, who knows??
just occurred to me that statement sounds like you know something that I don't........

My question is; why would valve get involved with this? Surely they could do something better because its their engine and they have a huge dev team to work with. I'm trying to do everything myself and nearly failing at it. :zonked: Don't get me wrong, i'm really trying. I'm just under some stress at the moment.

But yeah. This is getting difficult to work with.

I have two weeks left, a two-week break (for 6D!!!) a one-week trip home and then i'm back into school on July 8.

A little 6D news, Daubster has been awsome enough to tackle the coding task.

I'll be having loads of free time for ~2 weeks, so working on that many projects won't be much of a problem.

give me $1200 for computer parts and then I can do all of the models you like. :badass:

I'm saving up for parts to put an super computer together.
I have now a processor that is just short of a quad-core.

I need a nice monitor, power supply, keyboard/mouse and later a vid card capable of running newer games.

I probably would still refuse to move to source. I've chosen to map, model, and texture for HL1.

ok I played the early demo and it looks great! I think it could be really fun and I like the idea of having a puzzle game where your in first person, its very original! however, I got stuck. on the tutorial. gameplay needs a little tweaking - by that I mean tou need to take alot of of time to experiment with difficulty and which level goes where etc. Don't worry! I know its early days so I dont expect it to have a perfect difficulty curve now or any time soon, butt keep up the sweet work because this is great!
Posted 17 years ago2007-06-12 20:43:03 UTC Post #225033
videos are broken? argh....

oh yeah, i cleaned out my thing for m0p. I don't know how much space i really have. Sorry.

My first order of business is a new demo. within 2 or 3 weeks. I'm already going over abstracts for the training grounds. I will throw out some screenshots once i have something finished.

Progress has been slow for a few weeks because its final exams at my school. But after thursday i'm finally free to develop 6D!

I love your example video with the Voiceover when you accidentally fell off the edge.

"Fuck."

Made me lol. Will this game be infuriating?

all of the videos are still on the Moddb account. if you tards could read, I cleaned off my space that m0p is kindly providing.

6D autosaves at the beginning of each stage in spots that won't glitch.
I'm well aware of that stuff.

Also, I finally composed a theme!

Love the theme :)
It sounds like a mix of Metroid Theme and Lon-Lon Ranch from Ocarina of Time

i get the metroid part, but the lon-lon thing... i don't hear it.

Its similar to the theme from Valley of the Wind. Which I saw recently, and felt inspired.

Yeah I heard that also. But it sounded more like Zelda's Theme.

You use Fruitloops right? I kind of understand the process but how do you get the sounds? Do you have a keyboard with laser sound settings that you record with a mic or something with better quality?

Just Fruity Loops Studio. There is a mixer and all that. With some practice its not difficult to compose and mix samples.

Hardcore composers use plastic-wrap and a comb.

'FUCKING NOT FOUND'

not my words, whoever made the 404 page. hence the swearing in my post... it was literally 'fucking' gone.

oh yeah but still, great work so far! cant wait to play the real deal!

I rock at FL!

Rimmy: That track is nice, but it's missing something... Try some really muted drums with reverb abd a touch of echo faing in, in the middle of the track.

Just now watched the gameplay vid. I can easily see this as being an independent game released on something like Steam or Xbox Live Arcade. Very creative, very very impressive, looks like a blast to play.
Posted 17 years ago2007-06-21 18:17:45 UTC Post #226011
The Latruis 3 is the player's shuttlecraft. You'll see this often because that is how you roll.

I know, shouldv'e used some 6D stuff for the environment, but its a test. :glad:
