I have a wierd problem with my elevator I made. It is a basic hollowed out box with enough room to fit 2 people in. When I press my button to make it move up the track, it either works perfect or I have to keep jumping as if I am trapped inside it. It ALWAYS works perfect when I shoot it though since I made it also trigger when shot. Anyone have a solution or idea to help?

Thanks,
Ian

Is it a func_train and tied to an origin? Maybe it is too small or it moves to slowly...

I figured it out now- I had it so that u could "drive it". forgot to disable.

New problem- Elevator stops WAY short. No timers.

There's no such thing as func_train in source.. I wish it was still there though,

func_tracktain is pretty much the same..

The new problem is probably path related.
Remember, the path should be in the center of the wanted position, not bellow or over.

I thought the train ends up on the purple dot of the elevator. I'm still experimenting.

Well there's your problem!

Make sure that the purple dot is exactly in the middle of the train, don't touch it at all, cos that is the origin point which is used instead of the origin brush in HL1.

Then you do as I said before.. make the messurements.
The train will move untill the point of origin hits the path.

I would think that the origin/purple dot would be where it stops as it passes, but it doesnt even pass the trac.

Try pie try.
Put orange dot (or blue dot.. at least it is for me in the 3D view) in the middle (see where the X is in the 2d views) and then it should work.
