I saw in another post that you can use .LIN file to find leaks.

I am putting it here because I found it burried in another post whos topic heading would cause a reader who was looking for this topic above nto to read it.

Muzzleflash - in that other posting you indicated that you can use the .lin file instead of the .pts file can you please explain how you can do this here - thanks!

"Map" --> "Load pointfile" and select the .lin-file.

you choose "No" to the question that appears to you and the you look for the "youmapname.lin" it should be located in the same folder the .map is.

what do you do when you have loaded the .lin because all i get is a million red lines all over the place?

Its just one line which gradually fades from blue to red. Follow it until the line stops (red). The leak is probably close to where the line ends.

Wow really? My pointfiles are always just a plain red line. That fading thing sounds much more useful.

Yeah... the .pts file doesn't do that, always use the .lin file if you can.

You know how to use the compile boundaries right, becuase otherwise thats quite a useful method at finding leaks.
