Early today, a friend of mine from highschool, and two others were killed today in my hometown. Reason: he was driving way too fast, and tried to pass a truck towing a boat. He ended up clipping the boat, rolling the car, and smashed into a truck.

Don't drive fast people. Stuff like this happens far too often.

Whoa... sorry to hear about that. But yeah, when I passed [my driving test] I was kinda mad on the roads for a short time, but then just figured it wasn't worth it, I did some stupid stuff and afterwards was angry at myself. You're right... it ain't worth it, not when you don't know what your doing and on public roads.

i remember when i first got my license i wasn't reckless or anything like that. But as time passed id find myself at an average 5 - 10mph over the limit =. Not to proud of it. Most of my would be accidents nearly happened because i wasnt paying enough attention though, not cause i was speeding.

@ Arcan: yeah... actually kinds same here. I always just find myself a little distracted, and then I suddenly realise Im away with the fairies and concentrate really hard. I suppose its like daydreaming... but just more dangerous. Trouble is its so easy to do... speeding that is.

In the UK, 30mph feels soooo slow after driving for a while, especially if you've just come off a motorway or something. And showing off... thats definately another aspect, which probably played a small part in this accident.... its too tempting to drive faster to impress.

But yeah, as I said, Im trying to slow down... but regretably, sometimes I just think you need a reminder like this to really make it sink in.

My repects.

Well turns out from the police report, they were doing damn near 80mph.
I take a lot of chances when i drive too but nothing too dangerous.
EVERYONE speeds 5-10 mph over the given speed limit, and sometimes i'll be driving home late at night, i find i have to blast my music and slap myself every few seconds just to stay awake on the highway.

Most kinds of music make me go to sleep, so whenever I can drive, I would need some kind of horror or random music going to keep me awake on the highway.
