The completed maps vault is getting very big. Someone needs to go through and delete all the horrible maps submitted by users who joined for 2 seconds and then left or maps that were just plain bad.

Not trying to be picky but shouldn't this be in the 'Site Comments/Suggestions' area? Anywho, what's the big deal? Unless they limit what the current users can submit, I see no harm in leaving them there. Some of them are really good too!

So what your saying is that among all the BAD maps, limiting the BAD maps to being BAD map, there are some GOOD BAD maps?

WCDude, you've got like 10 maps in there and 2 or 3 are tottally worthless! Delete those and it will be a bit better for us all, maybe not you though.

WCDude y did u start this anyway :? it has nothing to do with general mapping questions. Its a post that u are flaming about other peoples maps. Post it someone else next time.

i already suggested ot put in a lot of valuble time to make a cs vault. if i had i would do. 7th told me it would take a lot of time but i jsut want 2 seperate vaults

BTW how do you distiguish between a 'good' and 'bad' map? These terms are used rather lightly sometimes.

I take it that WCD wants an Admin type person to choose what is "Good" and what is "Bad".
Or does he just want me to delete all his maps

The Map Vault was originally set up to give the members somewhere to post their creations.
The only other place running a similar system was SnarkPit, And let me tell you folks... Most of the Maps in out Vault would have attracted abuse and derriding comments.
So, regardless of the quantity or quality, the Vault is there for the members to post whatever they are working on and hopefully they won't get too much flak.

The last bit depends on everyone else. Think how proud you were of your first maps (and how bad they almost certainly were on reflection), and be kind to people who're only just getting started. If you flame them and tell them how awful their maps are in a blaze of aggressive criticism, no-one'll come here at all.

I'd like to thank jaardsi and ZombieLoffe (I think it's you?) who review maps so well in the vault with pros followed by cons in a nice tactful structure

and anthony copied it. but i mean a seperated vault for only hl and cs. as i sadi before im willing to move all the maps in place. 240 right now

I do agree when someone says there's a lot of crap maps in The Vault. But that also happens on the Snarkpit. I think it happens everywhere...
To me, the only maps I look at are:
1) The newest maps.
2) The highest rated map.

You can delete, my maps, I don't mind they weren't the greatest anyways(just examples and propblems)

perhaps it would be better to have a pro vualt where only the best and highest rated maps went.

That defeats the point of the 'vault - primarily for new mappers to get comments on their work.

Perhaps a Vault of Fame, though, the top 10...?

lol... not until you llama-proof the voting system! I was so disgusted with lame "5-star" maps I disabled voting on all of my maps.
