Has anyone played this mod yet?

It's a Russian mod, and it's visually stunning. It actually feels realistic - almost like source. The mapping is phenomenal - you have to see it.

I played it a couple months ago, it was unique and very entertaining. A few bugs, but the gameplay and visuals made up for that...

I played it when the first thread was made.

It was awesome, and some parts scared the shit out of me, but the very poor aimingsystem kinda ruined the gameplay

It wasn't that the aiming system was that poor, it's that the shots didn't seem to always fully register... I'd get blood from where I shot the fuckers at, but not always damage... shooting a zombie thingy in the head 47 times to kill it isn't always enjoyable...

I started playing it... it looks amazing. Be careful if you have an older video card, as it will screw up your video modes... at least it did with me. (I have a x600 on a sony laptop with no new driver support)

I had to run without the new effects--delete the new dll it gives you to put in the HL folder, but the mapping/texturing/everything looks amazing.

I thought the first shot was source for a minute there. Amazing what some higher res textures and a little creative mapping will do for the visuals.

I dont think they stole any models from source at least as I noticed, but some of the animations were, like on the zombies.

Yeah, sorry about the size of the screens guys, I had to rush the post a bit last night.

I haven?t got far yet in the mod, so I will be playing it - man does this mod look sweet.

First of all, the bugs I seem to get are to do with the HUD. Whenever I put the gas mask on or head shield, blips instead of text/symbols appears at the lower left of the HUD. I'm guessing this is mainly a graphics problem because I too am forced to use Software mode.

I think I'll tweak around with the settings and see what I can do.

That's what happened to me when I tried running it on my laptop.
Turns out my GPU didn't like it, but it ran fine on the PC.

Do what Captain Terror did.
Remove the DLLs Paranoia adds into the half-life folder, that should make it run with the old HL graphics, but the graphical tweaks won't be noticeable I think.

Because it has bump mapping and specular support.
It looks more like STALKER to me, but it's pretty obvious that that's what they were going for.
