So I make a test map, 3 rooms, several doors, a hallway some lights, made it pretty and detailed, but i get some odd error ...

Creating default cubemaps for env_cubemap using skybox materials:
skybox/sky_day01_01*.vmt
Run buildcubemaps in the engine to get the correct cube maps.

No such variable "$hdrbasetexture" for material "skybox/sky_day01_01rt"
Can't load skybox file skybox/sky_day01_01 to build the default cubemap!

I uh... didn't use skybox at all... so I don't know why this is being problematic... anyone help me out on this?

The map is closed off with no leaks (iam nearly 100% sure) I've gone over it at least a dozen times with snap on grid 1 making sure each 'corner' is another wall intersection and not a gap. I have even made large 'blocks' to block where i think gaps MIGHT exist, even though they make it look horrible, testing is more important then looks right now....

SoI managed to get to test the map finally, however for some reason only like 10 seconds then timed out... another mystery to add to my box.

hi ember, welcome to the twhl.

the skybox error you get is not a unusual error, it's pretty much there every time i try to compile my maps.

but it is not a error, it's just a warning, it won't affect your compiling, which is strange how your map has a problem, were there any other errors?

can you post your full compile?

You're making a map for HL2DM. HL2DM doesn't support HDR lighting, so the $hdrbasetexture variable is invalid for the used skybox texture.

You can ignore that message.
