Not even 12 hours ago I registered for their forums. They support GMOD and all sorts.

Upon my 1st thread, I was already "told" about my spelling, and signing my name at the bottom of my posts. They have some kind of scoring system that it utomatically calculates your "smartness" level.

Well, I accpeted the criticism, and posted a new thread asking for opinions about the best ADDONS for gmod...

Not even 30 seconds aftert that, a big huge humiliating yellow sticker lookin thing comes up "YOU HAVE BEEN BANNED and the reason is below!"

"Wrong Section" <<<--- HOW THE ** can anyone get banned for posting something in the wrong place?

I hadnt posted mroe than 2 threads..... and ZAPPO!

So yeah, stay away from punch-em-in-the-face studios.

You'll soon find that the internet is full of assholes. Facepunch is one of the worst, but nearly all "popular" forums are packed to the brim with tools. One of the reasons I like TWHL is because everyone is friendly.

Just so you know, Facepunch is notorious for its itchy finger on the ban trigger.

Mostly friendly, but still we're peachy keen compared to some others. I've avoided reading my comments and messages from Youtube. People there are just looking for fights. At least here there is some understanding from the admins and moderators, as well from its members.

But seriously, Facepunch is indeed god awful. They ban people by the bucketload for all kinds of beginner mistakes, but let pass some of the worst conversations and insults I've ever read on the internet. Scroll through any lengthy thread there and you can see just how many of the users have been banned for crappy offences.

hoo hoo! i LOVE these threads! i mean, you wouldnt BELIVE the ammount of times new members have been thrown out with the garbage for all sorts of reasons! i mean, one guy was asked to be BANNED because he couldnt speak good english, even though he said that english wasnt even his first language!

Garry Newman: The guy has internet OCD or something. He has a serious superiority complex and encourages Mods and Admins to abuse their power. I believe this is a shitty way to run a forum but unfortunatly people still use it.

Some of the content that comes out of Facepunch is awesome though. Like ripped models and comics etc.

I even got a free argument when I first signed up.

I remember the insaneness of Facepunch Studios. A gaming magazine wrote an article once on Gmod, and, as a challenge, said that people should try to avoid being banned once on its forums for a month.

Neddless to say, I and my friends failed that task tremendously. I got banned in 4 hours.

If you know what GMOD is, skip this:

WUT ARE GMOD?

GMOD is a mod for source where you can spawn Npc's, items, weapons, ect. Pose ragdolls, and dynamically attach things together. Its a fun sandbox game that you can make webcomics and machinima with, or just fool around.

I , for one , after leaving TWHL to see where GMOD came from , I joined. I have been banned many-a-times , but after a while, you learn what to do , and what not to do.

And don't tell anyone to stay away from there , That site cured my typos and now I'm a grammar nazi.

And also : Mods go in the gamemode section. If that is considered the wrong section , then go to LUA scripts.

To be honest , Posting a thread on the best GMOD mods in the mapping section is quite... "thoughtless"

They have some fame . At least I never wanted to go to their threads. I pick up good addons from some guys there and moments later I see the guy that did a good addon is banned. That forum is full of "banned" avatars.

Btw , it's "FACEPUNCH" ... so yeah . And speaking of gmod , most of the admins and things like this are under 15 years. What can you expect.

Wow, they really do have lame rules. Haha everyone in an entire thread got banned for merely posting in it.

Reminds me of a computer forum I used to belong to where the mods went on a power trip and started banning people left and right for things like having an account on a another forum or for "becoming too popular" and ridiculous things like that.

The guy merely pointed out that the thread creator had posted in the wrong section of the forum. Something which a mod can easily rectify without going to the trouble of banning someone.

The Mods and Admins on that site are a pure example of an abuse of power.

I've never been banned from FacePunch because I rarely post. Most forums go with the flow and simply enforce the "Don't be a dickhead" rule.

Facepunch is run by dickheads. There's your problem. I mean hell, they allow users to post pornographic pictures to their hearts content, but ban them for pointing out the facts. What a fucking joke.
