I've been having increasing difficulty getting the 2006 SDK for Counter-Strike: Source.

First of all, it was missing editor textures, which was an easy fix by extracting them from the GFC.

Second, when I open Hammer, I have buggy viewports, they each have a single white line running through them. Some windows have the line do a 90 degree turn in the middle others have two lines crossing. I fixed this by downloading pre-update binaries and replace them after loading the SDK but before openign Hammer. This seemed to solve that problem.

Now, instead of lines. I just have black viewports, the 3D camera seems to respond to movement (when I press z) But even if I try to place a block, I get nothing. Can anyone help?

If I ask why you're trying to design for pre-update CSS, will I regret it?

It's GCF, not GFC. Dunno why, but that really annoys me. It stands for Game Cache File.

I still don't understand what everyone means by that? Counter-Strike is in my 2006 Source games? Please explain...

If you hadn't noticed, my writing is full of typos. I know it was GCF, but when I proof-read my post, I missed it, sorry.

Counter-Strike was updated to the 2009 Source engine around 3-4 months ago.
It should be there in your SDK list.
If it's not, refresh SDK content.

Almost every single source game is\has been updated to 2009, try to keep with the program.

Good luck with the project.
