Whenever I try to connect to Steam, it says I can't connect, even though nothing is wrong with my internet connection.

How does I fix this!?

step 1: grab a flashlight and a mirror
step 2: bend over, turn on flashlight
step 3: look for your asshole behind your ball
step 4: profit.

i needz to reinstall?

Yes, I does need help.

Allowz me to explain the confusingness with the me leaving Steam:

My mom has made me start in all these sports and crap, giving me no time to get on my computer. She wanted to get rid of it because she's tired of me spending hours apon hours apon hours on it. Also, at this time, Steam started to act up.
However, after I had made the post, I had begged for a while because I didnt want to quit my computer, she was able to cancel a few things so I could stay on the computer. Then I decided to see how much people would miss me.

Enough spam.

If these don't help try contacting Steam support.

Check your router config for blocked ports, she might have added steam there. I honestly think reinstalling is just wasting time.

Yes but you use the same router I assume.

The thing is that neither of us have any clue how the heck it works. If I reinstall steam, will I have to reinstall all my games? Or could I just copy all the files, reinstall steam, and then pase them back? Like, copy the dimbark folder.

The GCF files are all you truly need for games that utilize them, the username folder is just for local content, no game content saved there.

And the likelyhood of his mom actually going out of her way to ensure that steam gets blocked is very low. Otherwise that's a really strict tech savvy mother.

If you want to reinstall Steam: Move the steamapps folder out, reinstall, then move it back in.

Horsefeathers. We all know noone's mother can operate a computer properly, let alone block a port or group thereof on a router.

Everyone knows mother should be in the kitchen making cakes and sandwiches, and not crapping around on any interweb. This will not stand.
