I found if i have hammer 3.x open first, and then open up the sdk at the same time, Hammer 4 renders just like it's big brother!

Everything seems faster and looks much clearer to me, probably because of brush and decal transparency being shut off.

It just feels better like it reminds me of home. i prefer the look of hammer 3 to 4.. is it possible to turn off the tranparency or whatever and make it look like this all the time?

Transparent tool textures are so incredibly useful. Why on Earth would you want rid of them?

PB: idk the 3D window renders much smoother for my computer without the transparency. I MUCH prefer it. (i'd show you a side-by-side comparison, but my shitbox is compiling atm.. =P

TheHunter: i prefer the opaque tool textures. I find it really hard to see trigger and player_clip brushes, and it's harder imo to select them.. could i just edit the vmt/vtf and make them opaque?
