Ok, now that I know how to rip (hack) I have run into my first problem. I try to change a light environment but when I rnu the map the light hasnt changed at all! I try the same thing on a normal light, sameproblem. Now I know most of you have probably never ripped a map before but do you know whats going on?

Have you changed the color noticeably? ie, yellow to green?

I have tried changing white to blue and bright to dark, so, yes

Hmm...no idea then. I don't often rip maps.

make sure you have re-compiled (you know what i mean) the new entity list into the map. if there are no changes at all, I'd start looking at what set up you've got for RipEnt, and also whether you're changing the values properly.
what are you testing the map on? 1.5 or 1.6?
you need to put the .bsp in your maps folder (lol, clutching at straws :P )

finally, make sure you haven't altered the position of the entity (so that it dissapears into a wall or something) and check how many light_environments there are in the map, some of the older cs maps weren't compiled using the zhlt tools, so there are more entities.

I doubt you can change lighting since that involves other calculations (RAD).

a fine point. try changing the sky to backalley or something if you want to darken it up maybe?

I seriously doubt there are any leaks in de_dust and cs_assault. well the values are correct I made sure that I did the right re-importing so it must have to do with the rad file

yeah I can change the sky, and can add in anything I want even blocks, just make a func_wall in worldrcraft, compile the map, and rip it, and paste that vlock inot assault or whatever, its just the lights that arent working

Well, as I said, you can't do it then. Lights, RAD, that becoemes decompiling.
