Hi!.

Just realised something. I have a grunt following some path_corners (scripts didn?t fit in what I wanted. Anyway, the path works) and decided to save a game in order to test how the grunt behaves as well as some timing stuff.
Whenever I load the game, the grunt remains still, as if he wasn?t following any path. This does not only ruin my tests, but also some of the ideas I was using!!!.
Can anyone confirm this happens?.

I've seen this happen as well, monsters seem to freeze and not do things assigned to them after loading a savegame. I think its just a game issue that happens and there is no way to really avoid it, you'd just have to restart the map to get them to work again.

I see. I suspected it, one bug that, well, may have spoiled or substracted some fun from our HL playing!!!. Now I know why all those grunts were still :P.
Maybe it?s just that monsters don?t retain this kind of stuff when saving, just coordinates, health and stuff sooo... I?ll have to work it out with some imagination.
By the way, I hoped that you would answer :P.

That kind of data not being saved sounds like a very likely cause of this problem. Hopefully theres a fix in HL2 :)

i think they should be re-triggered at the load game, although i have no clue how ot do that without saving.

I've also noticed animated lights stop at their last frame after loading a savegame.

The programmers probably overlooked such things, so they're not remembered in the savegame files. Well, too bad...

The grunt path problem can be solved by using empty scripted sequences in place of path_corners. He continues to follow the scripted sequences after a save and load.

I tried it Slayer, in fact, I?m using that method now but... Will the grunt interrupt his script if he sees the player?. I?m using these things carefully now.
