Ok guys i have a question.

Aside from the hammer (worldcraft back then) tutorials what as the first map you ever made on your own. I remember i made a scripted sequence level that i just kept adding and adding stuff too. Eventually there was so much stuff going on it crashed my (back then low-end) PC!

cause i was mapping with unreal for bout 1 and half years

um it wasn't the common box with aaatrigger everywhere...
as i have experience...
it was an arena map 'Aim_Mack_vs_TMP'

was an open area with hill in the midle and ruins on ever side of it
that being were the players spawned....

was good, but it had some odd lighting affects (cause i was still having troble with light_environment'

I made a deagle map. with crazy death traps, and soem kind of laser of death.

My first map was modification of original Doom. The did a couple of Heretic maps. Half-life editing was a real treat, but I don't think I ever completed a playable level.

Made some UT maps that sucked. Seems the easier the tools got, the more crap had to be put in a map and the more thought. Back when there weren't that many maps there were lots of good ideas.

Now I'm trying it again. Hopefully my ideas will be fun for HLDMers.

The first map I got running in Half-Life was a L-shaped corridor.

I think my first map was distinctly grass-y. My early maps were for CS :)

hmm.. de_bjorkhagen.. very leet, indeed, except I couldn't apply textures to single faces and i didn't know how to use entities. I remember being over thrilled when I got a env_beam working.

I remember being over thrilled after I copied that grenade-launching code to the primary fire function of the mp5...

Man, we had some fun in bootcamp! :)

I did the dojo from killbill (house of blue leaves), but was not to skilled at the time. Everything was out of wack, it looked all right but shyte load of leeks. Then i stopped it half way through and then started working a new one "gorgeous gorge" which will be out soon once i can get last few bugs out and finish a little more detail and add lighting.

Big_cty for Half Life, with a leak and dark glass for the sky(didn't know how o make sky so I substituted it with the dark part being the night sky and the bright streaks being clouds...)! (original map was a lot different, was reall quite stupid really...)

I don't hate CS mappers. I just hate remakes of old maps and horrible fy maps that all look the same, just with different textures.

In my first map i didn`t even know how to make a sky.
So i took a snowtexture instead of the sky-texture.
It was horrible.
When i compiled my map the first time and played it, i couldn`t use the passages because the doors had the size of chickens. :confused:

my first map is actually in the vault, if anyone is interested. (i didnt release it as soon as i made it. i put it out later for a joke more than anything else.)
