SD =better detail or something like that I think. Playing the ps2 version again (I have both) I notice some parts of some of the levels seem to have been removed. Also the SD thing improve the retinal scanner`s ammination (the scanner not the monster useing it).

never good on console? why dont you swing by any game selling shop, see if they have an xbox up for playing, give it a go (they always use halo) and then compare it to the pc version. the only thing the pc version has going for it is online play and the editor (so people can make mods that arent as god awful as the pc version).
and as for my opinion, the ps2 version is like crap, only it been covered in tinsel and diamonds, and other sparkly things.

I also have both versions of the game. It seems ports from pc to console are never very good and vice versa. The only thing I like about the ps2 version is the cooperative play in decay. other than that i would never touch the game. better graphics dont mean a thing to me.

The PS2 models aren't actually that good at all. The textures are even more low-res than the LD models that came with PC HL. As mop said, you can just get SD models, and you can get (eventually) detail textures for PC HL to make it more like the PS2 version. However, the PS2 version had good stuff, like modelled vehicles, chargers, and retinal scanners. But: PC > PS2

yes i noticed that the PS2 version had extra bits like a scientist on a whellchair that needed to be protected and the end boss on it for me was this bit where a reactor was being turned on but you had to protect it from the aliens
