Is your LAN network set up correctly? Does it work on other games?

Try running steam in offline mode and try then  .

You wont see any LAN games unless a computer on the network has hosted... You probably know this but just incase...

You didnt make it very clear. Also check your router

Hmm...

Did you make sure to set up your IP correctly (does the LAN itself work?)

Try using NetBios & IPX protocol instead

Can you connect to other LAN games using connect x in the console or +connect x on the commandline?

So this is a LAN?

What's your ip?

What's the host's ip?

sometimes if you have 2 different versions of the protocol, you won't be able to start a LAN game - that happened to me with my WinXP laptop and Win98.

But a quick switch to IPX & NetBios solved that :

got it, solved the problem.
I don't know how but my DEVICE MENEGER showed 2 TCP/IP , 2 network adapters, 2 etc.Erased 1 at a time and now is solved.
Thank you verry much
