I originally got half-life 2 and registered it on my slow computer. However, I made the switch to my faster computer once I was able to use it again. If uninstall half-life, how would I go about registering the key if I want to use my same steam account?

Use your exact same account info - Steam accounts transfer over multiple computers. They don't require authorization for installation like iTunes secure files, either, for example.

Simply put- You dont have to, all your CD keys are stored in a database when you enter it for the first time. This database corralates to your user id and password. So if you remeber your username and pass, then you only have to log in at the new computer to be able to play HL2 :P

You don't even need to stick in the DVD any more, if you still are, since December the fourteenth of last year (I didn't notice for quite awhile).

Or if you have a new account, your gonna need to pay valve 10 (or 25 whatever) dollars to get your CD key un-registered. Stupid handeling fee. :)

You could say, log on to a school computer and play HL2 and amaze your friends!

I can't though because the computers at school are completely and utterly useless.

I managed to by pass the firewalls and install steam but the crappy computers could not even open STEAM!

habboi: if you had a few weeks to download it onto the computer. it took 3 days on a 512k connection.

I've got a CD-key/steam related problem... I have a copy of Half-life registered to an account which I don't know the username and no longer have access to the e-mail address... I do know the password though, what should I do?

You can pay VALVe a fee to have the key removed from an account, but your best bet is going to be getting a new key as without the account/email you can't do much. All HL2 Silver + orders come with all of the VALVe games (yes, HL1/CS/CZ as well) so you could just opt to upgrade - Much cheaper.

So, could I install HL2 on a second computer and use the same login details? Or would this go against the EULA?

raise, you don't need to actually have access to the e-mail account to login to your same-named Steam account, you can change the contact address registered to the username. I have.

Anthony: you could, but I seriously doubt that it'd let you be logged-in simultaneously.

Goto the steam support. (steampowered.com)

get a login name and stuff then go to ask a question. Give them your Steam account name and your CD key. for any game. Ask for your password ans for them to change your email.

They recently changed my email and passwrod for me. They helped a lot.
