If your using Unix, a 3rd party MSN client, or an old MSN client, you will have noticed that you can't sign in. Here's why. I've just gotten word that Microsoft have blocked all but the latest version of MSN Messenger from signing in. What fucking assholes. They've just eliminated all of their Unix users, and a rather large chunk of Windows users. I hope they burn even more!

something wrong with msn? I dont have the lastest version (I think it's 7) and I can login perfectly... In fact i'm logged in right now

I never said msn was my life... It's just that my friends logon to msn. If I used something like yahoo messenger, there wouldnt be anyone to talk to, it's understandable

Use IRC!

I tell you, my friends dont use yahoo or IRC, so It would be pointless to logon to something other than msn if want to talk to them. It's just like that "linux instead of windows" thing. Yeah, linux is better, but most games and software I use are windows compatible and have problems with linux, so I just keep using windows. It's not really about what I like or I dont like, it's about being practical.
Messenger programs and Operating Systems are just tools. I'll use the bad tools because they still do their job.

Don't turn this into a Linux vs Windows argument. This thread is about Microsoft's stupidity with MSN, not their stupidity with Windows.
