I've got a slight problem in my opfor map. I always seem to get yellow blobs when trying to make grunts sit down (monster_generic, one of the preset models). So, I had the idea of using cyclers for it. However, there was a slight problem: The sitting grunts were completely black, even though there was adequate lighting in the room. I think it might be caused by the cyclers being embedded in the chair so they sit properly. Can anyone shed any light on this (Ignore the rubbish pun)?

Yeah, poor pun. Pretty good though. Oxymoronic, eh?
Pleasantries aside...

Can't you just ignore the yellow blobs? They're not gunna show up for people who don't play -dev, and does it really matter that a model is unable to move because it's stuck in a chair? :)

And yellow blobs always show up. Have done with me, anyway.

The yellow blobs do show up everytime...

(Some people get monsters stuck in walls to get the effect ! - on purpose)

Anywho, Vassy, It looks like there's loads of stuff you don't know about opfor, and how things were done.. soooo

in spirit u can tick the flag "no yellow blobs" which stops them. but thats spirit

(i really seem 2 advertise spirit 2 much ;) )

if you want to make grunt sit try using the animated sequence and in field action & idle animation enter name of sitting animation (if there is one...)
thats all i can remember now... :|

r you using the sitting soldier model or a soldier following a scripted sequence?
