Dawn of War: Dark Crusade
Command&Conquer 3 : Tiberium Wars
Battlefield 2

Not really new(except c&c) but they are good.

C&C 3 was shit. Honestly.

Get Zero Hour or Red Alert 2.

C&C3 ftw!

Unreal Tournament ftw.

:nuke: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl :nuke:

as for older games I suggest you get Fallout (1 or 2) and Deus Ex (not the sequel) if you haven't already played those.

C&C 3 was shit. Honestly.
Get Zero Hour or Red Alert 2.
You need to play the first C&C and tiberian sun to really enjoy the third.

Zero Hour was a joke, china, america, terrorists. Come on...Come on!!!

Red Alert 2 was the bomb. Still good and will always be.

FOR SOVIET PEOPLE, YES?

I'd definitely recommend S.T.A.L.K.E.R. as well. Pick up Oblivion if you don't have it, also.
Posted 17 years ago2007-04-27 14:39:59 UTC Post #220279
Oblivion is a must in my opinion. I've been playing for god knows how long and i still haven't done everything!

C&C Generals or Red alert 2 i'd also recommend. Getting the expansion pack is also a good idea, and both RA2 and the expansion (Yuri's revenge) are cheap.

Get C&C: The First Decade. You get the first 10 years worth of C&C (C&C, RA, RA2, Generals, etc), and it costs like $40. Well worth the buy.

For strategy, I recommend Medieval 2: Total War or if you like the roman stuff, Rome: Total war. They're supreme.

Rainbow Six: Vegas is awesome.. great shooter, pretty decent AI, and you are really forced to use tactics, rather than run-n-gun. I got it free with my AMD 64 4800+ :o

IT NEEDS SHADER MODEL 3!!! :(
Posted 17 years ago2007-04-27 15:21:53 UTC Post #220288
whats shader model 3 but thanks for all you're suggestions I will seriously consider them any DVDs you could suggest
Posted 17 years ago2007-04-28 07:18:02 UTC Post #220313
Basically it uses things that older PC's can't play. My PC uses Shader Model 2 so I can't play Splinter Cell 5.

STALKER Ftw.

(Although THQ was a bitch about releasing the game and got it out too early, even though it was being developed for 6 years, still too early).

Company of Heroes maybe. I hear it's a good RTS.

Company of Heroes = astoundingly good.

I'm a big fan of the whole Hitman series - I really, really wish there was an SDK available for that. :(

It's not for everyone, but like Marmite - you'll either love it or hate it. The newest one - Hitman: Blood Money - is just fantastic.

I'm looking forward to Bioshock a great deal. I still play System Shock 2 now and then, and it's a 'spirtual' successor to that (but due to legal wranglings, it's not a sequel) with many of the same people working on ioshock as worked on SS2.

I enjoyed Neverwinter Nights 2 recently as well, not a bad distraction if you like RPG's.
Posted 17 years ago2007-04-28 10:28:55 UTC Post #220322
The Hitman games would be much better imo if our lovable agent couldn't survive a thousand bullets to the head.

You're probably not interested in console games, but Crackdown is quite fun. It's GTA + Cel-shading + Future + Cops vs. Gangs.

PC suggestions..
C&C3 is also fun, but nothing original. If you want something along those lines but with more originality, go for Supreme Commander.

Supreme Commander is like a replica of Total Annihilation with bigger maps and prettier graphics, and possibly some different units.
Posted 17 years ago2007-04-28 12:24:58 UTC Post #220326
I have always loved RTS games, my favorite being Generals/Zero Hour and C&C3. Though with C&C3 all the focus is on graphics and whatnot, and the game somewhat...just isn't very fun.

Supreme commander is also excellent, and I would recomend it more than C&C3. (I have both, and Supreme Commander is more fun)
Posted 17 years ago2007-04-28 12:32:07 UTC Post #220328
Supreme Commander is fucking sweet, as its TA based (best game ever).

The only complaint I have is the time to build everything. Maybe it's my game speed, but it takes an hour and a half to build a nuke. Im too impatient.

Well I don't know much about the Xbox 360 but I hear Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is good.

You're wrong. I ran the demo fine at this old comp.
Maybe it's my game speed, but it takes an hour and a half to build a nuke.
Just get lots of level 3 builders and start-a buildin'. It'll cost like a lot, but still.

I hear Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is good.
It's not. Nice graphics, poor control and gameplay.
Get Dead Rising for the 360
Very fun game, a bit of a pain to play through though with it's uninspired save system.
Crackdown and Gears of war are good buys for the 360.
Yep, i absolutely love what i've played of the Crackdown demo. Gears of War is good too for some slightly mindless (but very pretty) action.

Bah, I don't see what's so childish about it. I know I'll be getting it as soon as it's released.

You should watch the gameplay trailer :)

I'd recommend FEAR(if somehow you haven't played it yet) and SH4:The Room(PC version). They're not exactly new, but they're good. Both would probabaly keep you occupied for a while, FEAR with a long SP then some MP, and SH4 with awesome replay value.
Posted 17 years ago2007-04-29 22:15:28 UTC Post #220465
SH4 scared the shit out of me. =/ At least the PS2 version did.

Tomb Raider 3? Ugh...
Posted 17 years ago2007-04-30 05:56:02 UTC Post #220478
4 bad recommendations in one post, that's not bad.

Screw Morrowind, get Oblivion.

Screw GUN, get Call of Juarez (tbh, none of them are that good, but the latter's okay).

Screw Jedi Knight, get Jedi Knight 2 or Jedi Academy (both are OMG OLDE).

Screw Tomb Raider 3. It's older than death.
