Ever had a question that just gets asked and asked over and over? I'm certain this is one. I tried to search for this in previous posts. Couldn't find the answer, so I gotta ask outright. Exonerate a noob, please:

I made a map in worldcraft, but after a wipe and reinstall of my hard drive, my lighting textures aren't luminous in the recompiled map. Any idea why?

Moved the thread to HL discussion. Post your HL problems here next time.

Anyways - the old lights.rad must've gotten deleted.
This tutorial should explain how to add new texlights.

you're not using ZHLT anymore.

Also, why are you still using worldcraft?

Hammer 3.5 has been out since.. forever. :P

I'm using 3.3. I see 3.4 on the website. 3.5 is beta, right? Is it stable?
I didn't have it set up right. I had the wrong BSP, VIS, etc. I'll just download Hammer when I get home and do a fresh install.

Let me rephrase, as betas are unstable by definition.
Can the beta be ridden effectively, or do you have to be a hacker-god to hop on?

The 3.5 beta is as stable as 3.4. You just replace the exe and receive bacon functionality. By the way, the "wrong" compile tools? There's only one proper set of compile tools, and those are ZHLT. Use them.

Now I've got the reverse problem, like there is a leak, but I can't find one!

I'm also getting weird trails.

post compile log.

And stop double posting. There's an edit button for a reason.

Well, I hacked up the map and it works fine. Maybe it had a leak after all. :
Hammer 3.5 does seem a bit quicker.
Thanks everybody!
