I am looking into computer audio for a career road, just a possibility. I'm looking for something like audio editing, composition, synthesizing and creation. However, I'm not sure where to start looking. What do I search for in software? In classes? Do most colleges offer such a specific field like that? I'm looking for something involved in film.

What would the general course be that people take to get into that sort of career? Jobs from this include foley artists for films, sound designer for film, computer sound effects, game sounds, digital music. You know? Can anyone help me start down the right road for researching?

Well i know about the CSB (Connecticut school of broadcasting)
It's not only in Connecticut and its not only Broadcasting. My band recorded our album at one of their studios nearest my town, and my brother actually attended school there. He learned to use a bunch of audio mixing/editing programs. As well as video composition and editing programs.

Worth a shot i guess, but i dont know if your current location will be suitable for a CSB location

hope i helped.
