Problem map:
http://twhl.co.za/mapvault_map.php?id=4738

As you can see I have no problem making it spin on the Y-axis, but as soon as I rotate it (in hammer) on the Z-axis, I cannot get it to spin flat against the wall.
I believe I am probably missing something rather simple but I've been thinking about it too long :zonked:

I have also had a good google over this and checked forums thoroughly but got rather bored after the 1st few hundred irrelevant posts.

Did you change which axis it spins on? The Z axis is the default setting, which makes it turn around flat to the ground. Go to the entity's flags and check either X axis or Y axis. I believe left and right is X and front and Back is Y. I could be wrong, if it doesn't look right, try the other axis.

No no, I know how to make it do all that crap, just want it on an angle to the axis itself... hard to explain it.

If you download the VMF you will understand what I need.
Any help would be much appreciated, been at this for hours now.

How can such an advanced game engine have such a limitation?
It boggles the mind I tell thee!

I spent some time playing with phys_motor and made my wheel a physics object, it now spins on an angle to the axis just as I required. I uploaded an example map to help others if ever needed:

EDIT >> deleted my previous map ^^ so link on 1st post is now redundant
