Upon compiling my current CS:S project with HDR enabled, I've run into this rather perplexing rendering issue:
User posted image

All reflective surfaces appear pure white.
It's map-wide, not just that one area, and the map is fine with mat_hdrenabled 0.

Cubemaps were built using buildcubemaps, and in an attempt to find a sollution, buildcubemaps 2.

I know I've seen someone post about this before, but i couldn't find the thread.
halp please?

It happens the same thing to me too. I was going to ask it when I'll finish my map, now I don't have to.

Someone answer please!!!

Looks alot like if there are no cubemaps or the cubemaps haven't been built..
But you said you have built them.

Have you checked the compilelog for errors?
Have you set custom resolutions for any of the cubemaps?

Kasperg found a partial sollution to this known problem.

In the console,
buildcubemaps
mat_bumpmap 0

then reload the map

mat_bumpmap 1

reload the map.

why is it partial?

in my case, it solved 90% of the white-issue.. For some reason, it remains in a few areas. I am going to work on my cubemap placement to try to solve it completely.
