I've been making a prefab for the last day or so, but if I close the map, when I load it again several vertices have moved. Most of them only move half a unit or so, but some are more extreme, like in the picture.

It's in Source Engine 2007, in Ep2.

Would this be because a lot of the brushes have many faces?

You probably have vertices off the one-size grid, meaning they'll be moved by the engine automatically anyway (right..?). Also, check for invalid structures before you save.

I've been checking for off grid vertices before I save, As far as I know, there aren't any there before I save. And there aren't any invalid structures.

I've noticed Source does this with some rare shapes, even if they're completely valid and on-grid. Try splitting the shape up into more triangle brushes wherever the vertices go wonky... if you can, anyway. That shape looks troublesome.

I've noticed it doesn't happen to shapes that are split up, but there are a lot of shapes that would take a long time to split up. That one up there is a simplified representation of the brush that seems to split the most. I'll try and split it up though.

This is a super-annoying glitch with complicated world geometry in source. I've never been able to find a fix for it, which is really depressing, since complicated brushwork is my favourite part of mapping...
