env_fog in spirit is not working.

I'm running steam
Spirit 1.2
I have fgd file etc I don't know why steam fucks up some HL mods. For example, I have They Hunger and the menu still looks like regular half-life which I KNOW They Hunger wasn't designed that way.

How do I get my mods to act under steam like they do under won? I want spirit to work!!

The reason They Hunger is still using the default splash is because the steam version of HL uses a completely different UI system, and instead of using the WON .bmp splashes, they have the splashes in the resource folder, comprised of multiple TGA images; They Hunger was never designed for steam, as it was released beforehand. You can get a steam splash creator somewhere (I think the mods for steam tut has a link), and I've used it to replace Steam HL's splash with the WON splash.
As for spirit, does it refuse to run, or does the fog just not work?

Some of the other particle effects and shiny surfaces etc work fine. The env_fog entity just refuses to do anything. I tried putting a ton of them in a test map all with different values to make sure it wasn't working.

I guess I don't need fog that much...it just adds a ton of atmosphere and I like everything that should work to be working

I also tested it in each rendering mode.

Too bad I left my actual HL cds at home I can only download from steam..: (

Have you tried using a later version of spirit such as 1.5a4 or 1.8? (Download links)
I don't usually use fog in Spirit, but I'm sure that it works in the latest official builds.

Fog only works in OpenGL.
