i have science and industry (i dont know what version)

when i choose it from the custom game menu, everything seems to be
alright, but when i try to start a multi-player game, the screen just goes back to my desktop!! even when i try to load a map in the console!!

did anybody have this problem before? or is anybody having this problem now?

Check you've got the newest version. Check graphics and DirectX drivers.

They came out with SI version 1.0 about a week ago, so go download that if you got SI before then. Make sure you run in OpenGL, they added some graphical features in 1.0 that it might not like in Software.
