Yeah....ok, this just happened recently, all of my icons (weapons like the pistol) all of a sudden changed to letters of the ABC's such as d for the pistol, and instead of a crosshair, its a Q. But this is screwing with other mods too...and I am confused

and in my console, it also says something about items missing from each game (DOD, CS, CS-S, HL, HL2 Etc.)

Yeh I get that error but is dosnt affect anything ingame like that.

This happened early on in HL2. Ie, like, two days within release. Updates fixed it. Re-validate HL2 by clicking here:

steam://validate/220

Do not worry about the console's errors. VALVe removed some icons and the console is simply alerting the world of their non-presence. Ignore it.

Hey I did what you said Rabid, and I thought it would work....but it still is all messed up thanks anyway....

That's odd. You might be stuck with 'em like that if re-validating doesn't solve it, since that's what Steam support is going to tell you to do :F - I played with them like that for weeks, you sort of get used to it ;(
