I'm currently a CSE (computer science and engineering) major at the University of California, Irvine. I have always had an interest in electronics and mechanics, and I don't mean to boast, but I have a natural talent for them. I think everyone has a gift, whether they know or discover it or not, something that they are naturally good at, and that's mine. I've also always loved music and have learned to play a number of instruments, the main one being guitar.
As far as Half-Life goes, I have been playing the series for about six years now (I started in late 2002). I always enjoyed being independent, as I thought clans took video games too seriously (and many if not most of them do), but I recently joined [RDC] as I love their server and they are a good group of guys. I played HL2: DM for somewhere between a year and a half and two years, but I got bored of its slow speed. I tried HLDM:S when it came out, and it brought back memories of how much I enjoyed HL1. Now I play only HLDM and HLDM:S (just talking multi-player as I beat all of the single player games before I played them online if they had a DM variant). Despite it's rather large bug list and lack of popularity, HLDM:S is currently my favorite game.
I would like to learn to map someday, but right now I just don't have the time or the patience. I've learned a bit from exploring countless maps with utilities such as BSPView, but I have never attempted to make a map of my own.
