This is a demonstration on how to make a moving subway tunnel, made by func_trains. Nothing new, but i think this is better than the conveyor method.
EDIT: sorry but the .bsp need some other wad; tomorrow i'll update with textures embedded.
Anyway the .rmf can be opened and the textures replaced.

The conveyor method has a great advantage:
Shadows are correctly rendered, creating the illusion of real-time lighting.

In Poke646, a combination of both methods was used, resulting in a very good trainride level. The subway tunnel was made with the conveyor method, while architectural details like lamps and signs were done with func_trains.

So, I don't think this method is 'better'. It's just more usefull in some occasions...

Ies, i know that Poke646 use func_conveyor for the main walls and ceiling, and small details with func_train.
But with the method i used you can add more variety, you can make a door into a part of a wall, vents in the ceiling...

Anyway yes, it depends from what it has to be done, btw, the func_conveyor method require less work, and less entities.

Textures can be embedded using the command -nowadtextures with the compilers

Sorry but the site give me an error if i edit the map; i cant'upload a new version.

i always like the being in the train and all doors lock rumbles happen and light posts go by with countryside sky and noises so it gives a great illusion to moving then it opens the doors and your at the station

If you use -nowadtextures then I reckon you're likely to be using Q-Tools and should immediately stop mapping or get ZHLT, available on the Links page. NOW.

The -nowadtextures is again into ZHLT 3.0 beta, even if is overrided by -wadinclude. I'll find that -nowadtextures is just more quick.
