Update: Added new shapes, and made the whole toolbar a group, so use Ignore/shift-copy to utilize a shape.
Update: Made them 32?32--size of info_player_start--to make them easier to select and use.
I use this map as a beginning for all my maps.
I have these saved as a prefab in hammer, and pull them up when starting a new map, or if the situation calls. I find it's easier than using the primitives and the block tool, and/or merging verticies, in some situations.

The outer 4 wedges + the spikes together form a simple some or anything with a rounded edge you'd like to make. I've used it on door handles, simple domes, hatches, etc.
