Map Name: de_ignorance (beta version 0.65)
Release Date: 2005-03-07
This map takes place in Iraq, and uses the dust theme. It should, hopefully, in most ways, hold up as one of the better custom maps.
The T's start at the mosque, and in keeping with world events, they must bomb either buddha's temple or the Norman church. For novelty effect, there are a number of easter eggs that are mildly satirical, and some that are quite serious. The web site has more detail and many screenshots that show off the map.
- The game play is amazing and is particularly interesting for 'strats'.
- While CT's should rush to the first bomb site at the temple, the t's can make a series of ever longer flanking runs to the second bomb site at the church that are expensive for the CT's to cover. So the map is primarily structured to cause you to rush the first site, then guess where the T's went, then rush to catch them. Or, to guess the route they will take. It encourages sticking together. This leads to many different contact areas with many subtle strategies, rather than rushing to the same one or two positions every time.
- The nav file is included so you can play against bots.
- There are custom textures and a few custom models
- Approximately same size as italy or dust, but slightly larger
- The skybox and terrain make the feeling of space convincing
- There are eight easter-eggs on the map and they vary from humorous to serious political and economic commentary.
It's a pretty good map. Check it out. If you play it, you'll think it's great. If you play it against nine or more bots, it'll be fantastic. And if you play it as a team or clan, the map strategies for team and clan play are countless, and you'll think it's awesome. Really. Honestly. This map plays well. It's not just novelty. It's a good long term keep-this-in-the-rotation map.
Note: Thanks to all here for the testing and comments. I have closed every bug that's been reported that I could replicate. Some of the texture alignments will just have to do as they are for a variety of reasons.
Thanks

I like your description though, shows you are commited unlike some. Your map looks cool and I will review it soon.
A map called Ignorance set in Iraq. How ironic. Good name.
Map looks good from the screenshot.
Your dedication and attention to the detailing and the map in general is beautiful. It could use a bit more lighting contrast but meh, I can't complain. Well done.
I liked it, I thought it was fun to play when I tested it with bots. It's pretty detailed and it's clear by the on-site info you're dedicated to the quality of the map.
No need to argue over who's comment was 'right', everyone's entitled to their own opinions :/
