Well, my first little mod at last. The story is kinda fantastic but it's a nice map to play.
Story:
You are about to enter Freeman's Tomb... a dangerous place for one man, so be careful, there are some traps waiting for you. You must head for the Tomb to unleash the power of the place... and then you'll have to wait til I finish the second part. When I do, you'll just have to download the last part and add it to the mod.
Bugs:
I think there are not, but as always, to make mistakes is human so if you can find any tell me plz. Oh, and one last thing, use your flashlight as less as you can... lighting is important in this map.
I spent a lot of time making the triggers and all that, enjoy it, and post you comms!!!!

Some excellent stuff!

I must admit I didnot play the whole thing, but what I saw looked good!

Superb ambience in the "suit" chamber, but I would make the door latch more apparent--I ran around for 5 minutes looking for the key, not really knowing what to do! If that's the effect you're going for, it worked, but it's a bit annoying ;)

I liked the env_sound in that first chamber as well, but not in the subsequent corridors--sounded funny and repeatative.

Excellent use of triggers, game_text--though I'd make it only a trigger once...--, lighting, and neat vistas--the glass chamber out front.

Very nice SP stuff, near as I can tell :P

I give you the clue.... after you escape from the trap.... there's at your left, in that little dark corner, a passage hidden by an illusionary wall.........what comes after, it's up to you to find it. Good Luck!!!

Way too dark. Nice idea except walking through imaginary walls.

I can? WOW!
3 Stars for now, if you redo the lighting/wall bits (have them break or something, i don't know) my rating would rise.

I thought this was a pretty awesome map. And I didn't think the lighting was bad, just like other maps that have a horror/mysterious setting. The sound was really good too. The ghost scis even have their own custom sound! The beginning sounds were pretty cool too. They give a weird, mysterious effect. The story was good too, plenty of text to unfold it. There was 2 things though, when you get to a certain part, it says that there are no more ghosts ahead. It should say there are more ghosts ahead. (: lol, near the end, in Freeman's tomb, I fell off the invisible steps and went into the clip where all his weapons were. But those mistakes aren't really important enough to recompile the entire thing. And the mapping was good too, like the see-through floor, the suit and crowbar chambers, the walls, and so on. I also liked the mysterious and scary atmosphere. Good Map! can't wait for 2.

+ lighting
+ story
+ sound
+ mapping
+ atmosphere
+ setting
+ gameplay

overall *****

That was okay man...

There really wasn't very much Artistic Brushwork, but a hell of a lot of scripting.

I say you learn how to make like an arcitect before you try and make a mappack again.

Good job though...

I'm willing to bet $100 that you are Oracle's alternate account.

Don't do that, its not nice. I almost got Banned for it.

Very awesome. At time I was confused where to go especially the darker areas, but I found myself around. Game play is pretty nice, scary at times. Overall great work. Only thing I am concernd about is the very dark places, but hey, makes it harder.

4 Stars :D

Played it before, forgot to comment. :)

+ Atmosphere. The whole ambience, the lighting were awesome. The gloomy sounds, etc gave the whole game the 'right' feeling. Great job.

+ Idea. The whole Idea & story were pwnage for a HL-Related-Freeman-Experience mod. The mystic areas & sounds + the puzzles and quite hard gameplay made the mod look great, even with the average visuals.

+ Gameplay. As I said - I liked the difficulty level. Some of the traps were also awesome (the explosion trap in the beginning). The underground areas were kind of maze-ish, but not too complex. Keeping the gameplay a challenge and keeping the player from noclipping & godmode isn't that easy.

+/- Architecture. Now it wasn't too bad, although the caves could have been less blocky and some of the areas could have been better-looking. There have been some very nice architexture overall (the teleport room, before the tomb)

+/- Texturing. Although I liked the textures, some of them were too repeating/bedly aligned. You could have done better with the texturing, since the architecture isn't too good either.

Overall - a great mod, that played very well. I'll rate gameplay over visuals, so 5* it is.

great idea, very atmospheric. One of the few maps that actually scared me alot and stuff. Goes to show you that you don't need super nice mapping to make a good mod.

:) Loved it....Architecture wasn't too bad IMO but I did spawn more than once inside the invisible ramp at the very end....Very well scripted too....but I didn't see a garg anywhere :(
