This is the second version of the map I planned but the first got a AllocBlock::Full error so i scrapped it. I started again and made this map but I went too far and the r_speeds got out of hand. So this is really just a showcase map so let me know if you like it and I might re-do it!

Good Idea, but
"R_LoadSkys: Couldn't load gfx/env/wm_volcanicrt.tga" and r_speeds is immpossible. So I want to play this map, but cannot!

Same here. By the way, is this with the hi-def pack or something similar? Because that weapon at the end of the bridge in the screenshot looks either like one of the CS shotguns or the M4.

About the skybox: I tried taking some random sky textures and renaming them to start with "wm_volcanic", but they didn't show up and the map crashed quickly. I would suggest taking out the fog (which is really too bad: that was amazing) and see if that does anything. Maybe put a lava lake at the bottom instead?

Fog was really a trial effect actually using brushes rather than an entity effect. I have the Hi-Def pack installed on my computer but this should not affect yours. After losing everything on a recent hard-drive failure, I will remake the map, I will encolse it a bit more and use HINT brushes to improve the r_speeds and fps.

I've played very high wpoly maps before with no problem--even though my machine is shit--, but this map lags big time for me, so i just noclipped through some areas really quick before the choppiness was too much. So, some general impressions until i replay it on my soon-to-arrive new machine:

+superb ambient sounds
+Some great thoughtful architecture
+some neat ideas like the lava flowing down the stairs

-i didn't like the sky box: u didn't include the ones in the screeen?
-outside is way to bright imho

That's pretty much it until i play it again, but i like the theme and your work is always a pleasure to look at! cheers!

Really nice looking map, but could you please upload the skybox?

I think performance issues are caused not by framerate but by the flickering lights which HL has problems rendering correctly. Also you forgot skybox. Beautiful map other than that.
