de_nightshift in the Steam Workshop

My first CSGO map.

Playtested several times with friend, May.

(I apologize for the lack of an overview; I was not able to figure it out. Little tutorials were up for CSGO overviews. Also, the navmesh was done by an auto-gen and is subsequently rather poor.)

In this map, terrorists have taken over an officeplace during the nightshift, and plan to bomb either the cargo area or the manager's office. However, counter-terrorists have come through the mainway to move in and stop the terrorists.

Thanks for playing!

Wow!

First impressions
+impressive amount of detail
+very cleanly mapped
+nice small size(you don't see this too often)
+beautiful/varied design

I'll try to give you some more comments after i have had a chance to play it more. Great work sir!

Notes
overview is not hard, it's just a little bit of work preparing your map for the overview picture, and entering the coordinates correctly(css tutorials should apply for csgo though i have never made one for csgo yet!)

include the .nav file, or everybody that plays it will have to wait as it builds. All your content can be included in the map using pakrat too i think, though i've never used it yet with csgo.

This is going to be the first map I reviewed in ages!

-Not including navigation file.
+3D Skybox
+Good use of models & decals
+-Average lighting
+doors with breakable glass
-horrible red lighting for white bulbs :D
-strange hole in ceiling/floor
-weird gigantic stairs

3.5/5

You should work more on the lighting, there are plenty of tutorials out there on hdr lighting, dust motes etc.
Some objects like the stairs near the tspawn made no sense, unless there was a small hill there, nobody would stack blocks up that way to make those stairs. Same for the hole in the ceiling, the distance between the ceiling boards and floor boards is too small, if somebody jumped they'd call through the ceiling.
Still, this is your best map so far, very well done. If you continue learning and progressing like this, you'll be able to make some awesome maps within the next few years.

The more i play this the more i like it. Immersion is never broken and it always feels like a real place, except for a few small things:

-ladders you can't climb?
-doors that are locked you should make them actual doors with a locked sound, -or- block them with someting
-The one stairway is just blocks with no structure underneath to hold it; take it all the way to the floor, -or- make the bottom edge a nice diagonal shape with perhaps a few support beams

Other than that i love the map. again, great work! =)
