Allright, I've decided to make a Spirit of Half-Life map which shows what you can do with Spirit. It will include new AI, weapons, vehicles and some general cool effects, ofcourse all mapbased. So basically, that will be the very first map I will put into the vault after this being my very first journal post. If you're wondering what Spirit is, check the website or stop by here.

In this entry I have two thing to talk about:

1. I don't know why but my site isn't working right... says it can't be found. Well, this sucks... Oh well, I'll just go on without it. :(

2. My latest map (or I should say, map pack) is in the Unfinished Stuff vault. It's called 2001 Monoliths, and it's based on one of my favorite books, 2001: A Space Odyssey. The map pack contains two maps for now, I might add some more in the future. :)

I am finally back from camp until next year! I will miss it though. Not as much as I missed TWHL, however!

Public Apology.

I am sorry for my over reaction last night, and I admit it was an over reaction. I just dont want TWHL to go. It just offers so much. Again guys, sorry for my overreaction last night. :)

This cant be happening, no seriously guys, this CANT actually be happening. TWHL cant go... ITs the spark that relit the fire of mapping for me! I had all but given up on HL mapping until I found this site. Its thriving community greeting me with a really good rating for my first published map. TWHL represents a lot more than just a bunch of people putting up maps and tutorials, it represents a great strenght that A few people started off and kept going all this time...only for it to be torn down in a moment by floods. Think about it, and dont kill TWHL, it means a lot to many people. I may not have been in this community long but I know that it does mean a lot, even to me.

:(
I'm afraid it's official now. TWHL is dead.
All the good people are leaving.
I was just about to become a member of the family and now it's over.
Maybe there's is a way to save at least something.
We'll see.

Holy s**t. Members are leaving. Crappy maps in the map vault. Noobs everywhere. This is the fall of TWHL. :(

My story about the city was in the threads, but it'll be hard to find soon, so I will tell it here:

Once apon a time, there was a small town somewhere in the world. The land around the town was beautiful, so many people came to see it. But, one day, some people discovered gold within the dirt. The word spread of this gold and many more people came to the town. Before the people living already in the town knew it, the new people built huge factories everywhere to harvest the gold. They built big apartments near the factories, which left the old part of town in ruins. Huge buildings were everywhere, getting gold constantly and constanty. But, the more gold they found, the less the quality became of the land around it. Soon, the town was a city, and nobody even knew about the old town except for the oldest people in the city. The gold started to run out, and when it did, the old people looked around and saw what their beautiful surroundings had become of: a huge, dirty, polluted city with people everywhere. The city was so crowded, that the old people started to leave the city, grieving over what it had become...

And that is the story of TWHL...

The city symbolizes TWHL website, the people are it's members, and the land is the maps. The factories are the tools used to create the maps, while the apartments are forums. The old people being the senior members of the site. All the new people that came to the city were newbies that didn't care for the quality of the site.

I'd like to sum this up with a quote that many great people have used:

"All great things must come to an end."

Man that realy makes me mad how people start mapping and than a week later they make some gay mod of like two levels and its completely like half life with nothing new but killing grunts. Ive been mapping for about 1 and a half years now and I still never realy bothered learning how to compile them, thow I wish I would have because my machine for the compo I think could have taken atleast 1st or 2nd place... But you people need to wate until you create something worth even downloading and leave the mod making for when you get better!!!!!! Most mods yall make dont even have alighned textures,,!!! :o
