Funny how the mapping bug never leaves some of us. I'll be bothering some folks around here for info on this newfangled "Sledge" and see if it better then the tried and true Hammer! Also semi-transparent decals elude me.

Great to be done with school! Graduated DigiPen this past December, and now it is on to looking for work in the industry! I am excited and hopeful for the future, as well as grateful for my experiences in the past (and that people are still downloading and playing my old games!)
I hope to continue to grow as a designer and would love to create more goldsrc / source maps if I have time in the future!

Working over the summer on a HL2E2 mod project with some friends while teaching some Game Design to High School students at DigiPen. Kind of excited to maybe see this mapping/mod idea possibly come into fruition that I've had for over four years!

Just purchased new video card and motherboard! Hopefully they will all work together with my new system!
I forgot to make a journal post in 2008, so, I'll probably just make 2 posts this year to catch up...
From Newegg, I purchased:
XFX GeForce GTX 260 Black Edition Core 216
896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card
and
ASUS Maximus II Formula LGA 775
Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
...together with my core 2 duo Intel processor and 4 GB of Corsair gaming memory, I should be able to get at least 30+ FPS playing Crysis and whathaveyou. I don't know if I trust myself to swap out motherboards, so I may just have my old buddy who built my last system do it. I can change the power supply, everything else, I just don't know if its too smart to mess with the motherboard if you don't know what you're doin.
In other news, I put in my two weeks at Domino's Pizza, THANK GOD. I will be working for the MinQuest mining company doing computer work instead. Two years at Domino's pizza is quite long enough.
My biggest worry right now, though, is applying for DigiPen Technical University. I'm so nervous that I won't get in. For those of you who haven't heard of it, it is located near Seattle, WA and is the first University to offer a degree in Game Design.
Part of the submission req's include at least SIX DRAWINGS! Son of a bitch! None of the drawings can be made up or from a 2D reference. At least 3 drawings of objects, and at least 3 drawings of environments.
So, other than being sick to my stomache that I will be rejected, everythings good, lol.
Oh, I also ordered this mouse from Buy.com on eBay:
Logitech MX1100 Cordless Laser Mouse.

Another year, another journal post. My collab project 'Archimedae' HL2 single player adventure project is still in the boiling pot, and I keep getting more ideas for it. It will be outta this world (if I and my co-conspirater can ever finish that sucker.) Leap of Faith is in the pot, too. I can't believe my Dungeon Death HL1 single player is still in the top maps on the font page! Goodness! It is soooooo buggy.... A complete revamp and source engine makeover is also due for that game. Oh, and a multiplayer map from Leap of Faith, too. So, thats what... 4 projects? I think that should suffice if I can get them done. My mouth is just watering at the thought..... man... I want to quit my job and not go to college for like a year so I can work on those. So, that about wraps er all up for this years post. Weird Al concert, Dragon Con in Atlanta, new girlfriend, back to college, YTMND overload. What a year. By next years journal post I should have COMPLETED:

Still working slowly on Leap of Faith. Sidetracked by life plus ytmnd (http://ytmnd.com/users/DarkTree/). Also working on another mod called Archimedae. And other maps as well. Well, this is my one journal entry per year.....see you next time! 
Working on a Half-Life 2 modification called Leap of Faith. It will be a single-player experience For folks who like surreal gameplay and a taste for the odd.
