I have good news, and better news!

Good News:
After I clean up some messes with my homework, I'm open for oddjobs. 3DS MAX 8 works for me again! Please let me finish the jobs i have in progress.

Better News:
After much study and practice. I've become adept with the tasks of skinning and animating. These were the two hardest aspects of modelling, but I'm comfortable with doing both. Of course, I'm muh better at modelling. I also remodelled and re-rigged the classic set of HEV suit hands for future use. I can hook them up with advanced IK chains and controllers, but HL doesn't recognized the system at all. However, the Classic Bone system HL uses was reimplemented in a much cleaner and smarter way that allows more flexibilty and control with the use of envelopes and the weight table.

I also found out how crappy the original hand model really is. Many of the faces are messed up and some vertexes were poorly attached. Fixed. The oddly shaped arm was a mess in itself with a poorly shaped rectangular cylinder. Fixed. Also, parts of the mesh were not properly moving with the corresponding bones as specified in the original, or maybe it was just max. Fixed.

I'm a little anxious about doing a character, though I should test it before offering it to the public. I believe I can simply attach a new mesh to the existing bones of any model. Even modify the animations a little. If so, I can perhaps do new monsters for some of the mods out there.

If anyone would like, you can drop me some work. I'll make a list and first come first serve.

IN THE ZWN!
